Does importing overwrite existing content?
-
I’ve been using Posterous, but kept a backup copy of my blog here at WP. Now that Posterous is history (more or less), I have to move my Posterous blog back to WP.
When I export from P. to WP., will the export process over-write what’s already here in WP? That’s what I want it to do, because I want to import all the blog entries from Posterous will all comments. So: Will exporting from P. to WP. over-write existing WP content?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, not at all. All imported content will be brought in alongside your existing content.

So if I import from Posterous to my WP blog, the import will ADD to the existing content, which means I’ll end up with two of everything. Right? (Obviously, I don’t want two of everything….) THANKS!

Yes, if you were duplicating content between WordPress.com and Posterous, you’ll wind up with 2 of everything.

Thanks so very much. That’s what I needed to know and I’ll adjust accordingly. THANK YOU!
