Does it cost money to map my domain?

    I bought a domain on GoDaddy and would like to use it to create a WordPress website. Do I have to pay for a personal or premium WordPress account in order to use the domain that I already bought? I bought a domain a year ago and don’t remember having to pay for the domain in addition to a WordPress account.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

    If you would like to use it here on WordPress.com all you need to do is “map” your existing domain to your site. You will need an upgraded WordPress.com plan on your site in order to map a domain. To add domain mapping , follow the next steps:

    1- Go to the Domains page, select your site, and choose the Add Domain option.
    2- Click the Upgrade button next to “Already own a domain?”
    3-Enter the domain you’d like to map and click the blue Add button
    4-Complete the checkout process for the domain mapping and WordPress.com plan (if you didn’t have a plan already).

    As @assadaboultaif said above, you need to have a paid upgrade. I just wanted to add the point that you need to purchase the Personal plan first and navigate to https://wordpress.com/domains/add/ if you want to upgrade to the Personal plan. If you try to map your domain first, you will be led to upgrade to the Premium plan automatically.
