Does owning my own domain name give me the right to sell on my blog?

Hi,
I want people to be able to purchase my ebook on my blog. If I purchase my own domain name does it give me that option. If I move to wordpress.org what happens to my current followers? I’m not super tech savvy so I’m not sure what is the best route to take. Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Cindy Carl

Selling your ebook on your site here is allowed and doesn’t require you to purchase any upgrades. The only issue is there is no way to do e-commerce. The only paypal button we can use is the standard HTML donation button. I know there are people using the donate button, or having people use a contact form to which they reply with the paypal email address for people to use.

Thank you, Richard. That clears up a lot. I thought I’d have to go to wordpress.org, which is way too complicated for me right now. Do you happen to know how I set up the donation button? I’m still learning my way around this. Thanks so much for your help.

Certainly, look at this support page on getting a paypal donate button onto your site. If you have any problems, we can help you out with that.
