Does Related Posts keep track of tags if you change them?

I have been changing the tags on my blog over the past ten days, but feel that the Related Posts function is still using old tags to link to other posts that I am no longer using. Is that possible? How do I make the related posts function use my new tags only?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hello there,

Happy to help you with this.

Related content is automatically generated. At the moment, you can’t manually override any of the post links.

Are you able to give an example of what you’d like to show and where so that we can offer some insights on how to achieve that.

    Many thanks.

Yes, certainly! For example, I have no idea why Australia is related to Hotel Mumbai. Both movies are from completely different years and are tagged completely differently.

  • Hello there,

It sure does look odd on a first glance.

Recent posts are generated based an analysis of content, which is done independently on WordPress.com servers.

I would suspect that because these are both locations (or a reference to a location), this is why these are being served.

I hope this offers some useful insight.
