Does sign-up go from one blog to another?

  I already have an active blog. Many have signed up to be notified of each new post.
  I want to start a new blog on a totally different topic. I don’t want the people who signed up for the first blog to be signed up for the second blog unless they sign again. Is this the way it works?

  Absolutely. We wouldn’t want to anger them by automatically opting them to follow a blog they didn’t want to follow. :-)
