Does the ”More“ feature affect URL of post?
-
Frequently after I have posted an article I see the finished post and decide that it takes up too much space on the page and that I should use that ”More“ feature to divide it and have the rest on a different page.
When I do this, does this affect the URL of the page? Could that be the reason why I sometimes see ”Page Not Found“ when I click from Site Meter to one of my pages?

I don’t think it does. I think the only thing it does is cuts down the text on the front page, and gives a link to the original (full) post.

No it does not. The more tag is really a “page jump” to the location of the more tag on the single-post page for all intents and purposes. If you click the more tag, you will see something like “#more-1297” appended to the end of the URL, but that does not change the permalink. It just instructs the browser to put the “more tag” at the top of the browser window so that people can continue reading from that point.

Thank you……. but then, why are there so many PAGE NOT FOUND in my SiteMeter reports?
