Does the cost of WordPress Premium go up?
-
The original price listed for the WordPress.com Premium Package (Domain Name & Mapping, 10GB Space Upgrade, No Ads, Custom Design, VideoPress) is $99, but it says that is saving 40%. Does that mean after the first year the price goes up?
I ask because I signed up for a website in the past that was only $99 for the first year, but afterwards it was raised up to $160. That is still completely affordable for a year, but they were very sneaky about the price rising after the first year. It was unexpected.
I would like to know beforehand.

No it does not mean that. It means you save 40% by purchasing a bundle rather than purchasing each upgrade individually. Note that no prices as frozen in time. They are subject to chnage.

No the price will not go up to the individual totals the second year, the $ 99.– is not a first year “teaser” rate, that said, I am not staff and WordPress.COM does reserve the right to raise prices in the future, from what I have seen in a few years, they are slow to raise prices, so if the price were to go up I would expect the bundle price to maybe go up $ 5.– or so.
My domain mapping went from $ 12.– / year to $ 13.– / year but it had been at $ 12.– / year for several years

The cost being subject to change is understandable. I just wanted to double check that it wasn’t a “teaser” rate.
Thank you both!
