Does the "Donate" button have to come from Paypal?
-
I’ve been looking in the forums in regards to this question and it seems like paypal is the only option you guys have in regards to creating donate buttons.
However, our organization does not wish to use paypal. We wish to use another outlet (our bank). They provided us with an embedded code to place the “donate” button on our site, but wordpress does not support the code. Is it possible for us to use our bank instead of Paypal or no?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Does the embedded code include a link to the bank? The PayPal donate buttons are really just images that link to PayPal. If your bank created an image for you, you want to add that to your blog like you would any other image, then turn it into a link to the donation page your bank created. If you need help figuring what the code is your bank gave you, you can paste it in here and we can probably decipher it for you.

but wordpress does not support the code
so there’s a big stumbling block right there. As jqubed said, if you paste code here between backticks, we might be able to help.
Alternatively, if your bank can give you a plain HTML link to a secure donation page on their website that you can use in a text widget in your site’s sidebar, you’d be able to use that instead (and preferable).

I know you don’t want to use Paypal, but it’s not all bad. You can associate your Paypal account with your bank and your donors need not have a Paypal account to donate. They can use their credit cards. It’s a simple solution for small nonprofits that I’ve personally used before with success. Just a thought if your bank embed doesn’t work for you. :)

I appreciate the responses. You guys are quicker than I thought you would be lol.
But here is the embedded code. Let me know what you guys think.

No, you can’t use that code, period. Also, you didn’t post it between backticks, so we’re not sure all of it is displaying. What DOES display, however, is form code and that will be stripped out for security reasons.
What I suggest you do is host that code on a page elsewhere on the internet, and link to it. You could use Google Docs for this, perhaps.

Or as justjennifer said, see if your bank can give you a link to a page on their website and then you can put that link on your blog and send people to the bank. The form you posted looks like it’s designed so people can give money right on your website, but adding in a form like that’s not really supported. The simplest thing is to just link people to the bank. That’s all the PayPal donate buttons are, anyway, just a link that sends people to PayPal.
