Does the free domain on last 1 year?

  Does the free domain only last 1 year?
  – I checked my storage and have only used 0.2% of the 3 GB allocated.

  Must I upgrade to a paid domain?
  – or is there a way to stay on a free profile?

  Regardless, let me just add that you can keep using your free WordPress.com website address without needing to upgrade to a paid domain. Your free address never expires.
