does the free website hosting plan allow users to download files

  I am looking to create a new site with the sole (initial) purpose of distributing a file, freely. Is there any limitation with wordpress.com’s free hosting plan to doing this?

  Hi there,

  With the free plan you can upload documents (https://wordpress.com/support/uploading-documents/) and PDF files (https://wordpress.com/support/embedding-a-pdf-file/) but not videos. With paid plans you can have more storage space (https://wordpress.com/support/space-upgrade/). With premium, business or eCommerce you can have videos (https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/video-block/).
