Does the Manual Excerpt appear in Google results?
-
I have had some discussion about this and I thought I understood, but maybe not.
I have been adding the optional manual excerpts to all my posts believing they appeared as the snippet on the Google search results.
However, I have been told this isn’t the case. That is used only for internal posts lists and onsite searches, not by Google.
Can anybody clarify the situation. Are manual excerpts used by Google?

Hi there,
Excerpts are added as the description in your site’s meta tags in the site header, but it’s up to Google and other search engines whether or not they use that information for display in search results.
Looking at your site’s source code for a few posts I don’t see any manual excerpts there, but you’re using the Yoast SEO plugin on your site for meta data, so it could be that Yoast itself ignores manual excerpts, instead using an automatic excerpt for the meta tag. Please contact support at Yoast directly to ask about how their plugin handles this.
