Does the Stats Plugin work on non wordpress.com sites?

    I’ve entered the same key i use for askami but when i click on the blog stats on the dashboard i get this error message.

    You are not a member of this blog.

    If you have just installed the Automattic Stats plugin, this error probably appeared because the API key entered in the plugin belongs to a different WordPress.com user account.

    Have the owner of the API key visit this page and add you to the blog, or
    Get your API key here, then deactivate and activating the plugin and enter your key to add your account to the access list for this blog.

    i am logged in as the admin of my blog. i’m not quite sure what i’m doing wrong. I’m hosting this site (www.johnmunoz.net) myself. it’s not a wordpress.com site.

    you need to send an email to staff directly for support on this:

    support@wordpress.com

    If you are trying to access that blog via your WordPress.com ID, it won’t work. It will think you are a stranger. You’ve now got two WordPress ID’s: one for WP.com, and one for your WP.org blog. Be sure you’re using the right one. It’s a very common mistake (I do it half the time myself).
