Does wordpress allow me remove the footer or make it invisible?

  Hi!

  I’ve got this gig on which the person is asking me to work on a blog for him. I will use sandbox to develop my own CSS. I technically know how to remove the footer, but the question is:

  Is it ok to remove the wordpress link from the bottom? I read that it can be done in wordpress.org because it is all GPL, but what about wordpress.com?

  Yes, you are allowed to hide the footer when using the Custom CSS Upgrade.

  Can you give me some help here. I work with CSS, know how to hide/show things here, but I can’t get any styles to apply to the footer at all.
