Does WordPress Backup my Site? Need Help Recovering

Hi, I recently lost my entire blog due to an issue with GoDaddy. It is a managed WordPress site. Wondering if WordPress somehow backed up my posts? Does this happen? If so, where can I access it? Thanks!

  • It’s helpful to get a precise help if you share the website address you need help with.

If your site was hosted with Go Daddy you should contact the support team of Go Daddy to recover it. There is no way that WordPress.com will have a copy of your posts.

    mommydish,

There are several plugins you can use to back up your site, however they are pre-emptive measures. If you had one installed, I would check on that plug-in as it should have a back up for you. If not, I would highly recommend using one. Jetpack is a great plug in that offers a backup feature and there’s plenty of support offered for it. Since you’re already on WordPress it’s installed for you. However, no backup would have been run if that feature was not activated.
Please note, this JetPack feature is a paid feature. You can learn more about that here: https://jetpack.com/support/vaultpress/

You can also search for other plug-ins that may be a better fit for your needs.

Best of luck, and please let us know if there is anything more we can do to help you!
