Does WordPress Have Anyone Working Support For Domain Issues?

  • Unknown's avatar

I recently had an experience with paypal reversing charge on a domain I purchased for my etsy blog and now the domain (www.etsynow.com) is no longer associated with the blog (etsynow.wordpress.com)…. I have been trying to contact support through the link provided in the dashboard several times and even sent email to support via the support section of wordpress.com as I would like to resolve the issue and get my domain back if at all possible. Is there anyone here who can assist me with this issue as I am not getting any response please?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like you don’t have domain mapping set up, follow the instructions below

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

    What do you see at

Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades
Dashboard >> Store >> Billing History

Hi, thanks so much for responding!!

In my dashboard I have this message…… “One or more PayPal transactions linked to this blog were refunded. This may have happened because of a mistaken chargeback by the credit card holder or a PayPal investigation. Please click here to contact us as soon as possible to resolve the issue and re-enable posting.”

Where is say’s “click here to contact us” is actually a link that goes here —> http://wordpress.com/error-report/?url=(email visible only to moderators and staff)

That is the page I’ve been using to try to contact support and never got a response.

    ———

At –> Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades – – – I only see information about another blog I have at sunsets4life.com which is associated with sunsets4life.wordpress.com………. there is no information there any longer about the etsynow.com domain I’m having a problem with.

    At –> Dashboard >> Store >> Billing History – – – Purchase
Domain Mapping (etsynow.com), Domain Registration (etsynow.com), Private Registration (etsynow.com)
    2013/08/04 00:43 7U055626XA459502B $26.00

    ———-

I received notice from PayPal on 08/14/13 that the payment for the domain had been reversed and it was credited back to my PayPal account. I think for some reason paypal thought it was an invalid or possible unauthorized transaction and they locked my paypal account, in which I had to go through a verification to reinstate my paypal account….. and now I’m just trying to find out if it is possible to get the etsynow.com domain back…

Everytime I try going to etsynow.com I get a message that says “Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.”……………. but every time I log in, I just get the message “”One or more PayPal transactions linked to this blog were refunded. This may have happened because of a mistaken chargeback by the credit card holder or a PayPal investigation. Please click here to contact us as soon as possible to resolve the issue and re-enable posting.”…… and the etsynow.com domain is no longer listed where it was before on domain mapping :(

I have flagged this for the staff to help – they can look at your account details, I can’t

http://etsynow.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ – is where you want to look at the store to get the domain mapping – with domain mapping you always work with the base blog that you are mapping to – not the domain name that you have mapped – you also need to be an Admin of the blog you want to get the upgrade for

Thanks!!!…. when I go to Store > Domains …. it only shows the etsynow.wordpress.com URL as primary, and no longer shows the etsynow.com I had purchased previously which I’m sure is because of the incident with paypay reversing the charges for that. I really do appreciate you flagging this for support and hope I’m able to send payment again to get the domain back… otherwise I’m gonna have to create a new blog header :) Keeping my fingers crossed.

paypay = paypal that is lol

If I understand correctly the charges are correct but the domain mapping was undone.

Have you tried going to the store on http://etsynow.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ and tried purchasing the Domain Mapping again? The old mapping and the charges might have been cleared out of your blog – if so you should be able to just purchase the mapping again

The staff have a very good record straightening these things out so you are not over charged and do receive the upgrades you purchase

This is the message I get ——> Unable to map etsynow.com

The domain etsynow.com has already been registered on WordPress.com. Please contact support if you would like to map this domain again.

  • Unknown's avatar

OK – that will help the staff – they can clear the old mapping record for you.

The staff check the forum on a regular basis but I don’t know their schedule, so please be patient

Thanks so much!! I am being patient. I didn’t think it would be a quick fix. Just hope it can be fixed.

  • Unknown's avatar

    You be welcome

100% chance it will be fixed

    I am an idiot.

I linked the wrong Word Press blog to the domain I purchased through wordpress, uvoted4them.com.

I wanted to map uvoted4them.wordpress.com to uvoted4them.com, but I can’t figure out how to make the change. I have paid for the mapping and premium upgrade, I just can’t figure out how to get the mapping corrected.

When I type uvoted4them.com into my browser, Firefox tells me it can’t be located, and suggests I check my spelling, etc.

Thank you for your help. WordPress support has been terrific, and I hope you can help me resolve this last issue. Thanks again.

@Nebraskann, please post your question in a new thread, so we can better keep track of your issue for you.

@sunsets4life, it looks like Andrea is handling your issue now via email, so I’m going to close this thread.
