Does WordPress offer a solution with a Database?

    Hi I’m Mark Isola and I am the Secretary on the Board of Gibraltar Scale Model Society (GSMS). Having worked 20 years in the I.T. Industry that made me the defacto Webmaster and Website Admin. In my past in I.T. I have built and managed 3 Websites but never with WordPress, how good are they as a Hosting Platform? Also the reason the GSMS chose an external Hoster is because they offered a database and we need one. Do WordPress have a package that provides a Database?

    Hi Mark,

    since WordPress.com is a shared environment there are some restrictions and you wouldn’t be able to access the database.
    What exactly are you looking for, though? We might be able to suggest an alternative.
    With some external plugins available on plan Business, you have almost the same features as on a self-hosted WordPress site:
