Does wordpress own the ‘caftari’ domain even if I don’t pay for service

  Does wordpress keep the ‘caftari’ domain if I don’t pay for the free version? I no longer want to use wordpress. Can I get the caftari domain back?

  A domain is always owned by the person who registered it. You can always move a custom domain to another registrar/hosting.
  A wordpress Com subdomain, e.g. https://caftari.wordpress.com/, cannot be moved.

  Are you speaking of caftari.com?

  You didn’t register that domain with us. That domain is registered with Google Domains, so to make any changes to the domain you need to log into your account with them.

  You currently have that domain connected to your WordPress.com site via a domain connection upgrade, but if you no longer want that you can remove that from the Purchases page at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases
