Does WordPress replace older photos w/ newer ones once disk quota has reached?

The website I own, and am asking a question about is a free website; I’ve used up 100 percent of the disk quota (media) of my site; I have received a notification stating that I have reached max capacity (as mentioned above) and will not be able to upload newer photos: However, as I recently reblogged a post from another website: newer photos are still able to be uploaded regardless of my website reaching the 100 percent mark and receiving the notification that my website has reached it’s max capacity for uploads: How does this work? Will my older photos be deleted to replace the newer ones? I hope not as all of the files on my website need to stay; If I need to document more files I will do so accordingly using whatever other applicable service: I just don’t want any of my files getting deleted.

    Thanks for the concern.

  • Hi there,

No, we don’t automatically delete older photos to make space for new ones. Only you can manually delete any photos from your Media Library.

If you need more space I recommend upgrading to one of our plans.
