Does WordPress save your last edit?
-
I edited my first blog the other day and none of the changes were saved. All gone. Did I do something wrong or not do the correct thing to save? This is my first try at WorPress. Thanks

Hey there,
If you use the dashboard post editor (by going to your blog’s dashboard, then editing or creating a new post or page), a draft will be automatically saved every few minutes.
Drafts are not saved via the “New Post” functionality in the dashboard. This is a known issue that we are looking to improve in the future.
To be save, be sure to manually click “Save Draft” or “Publish” after creating a post so you don’t lose your work. There is also a time limit (around an hour) on this form; submitted content will be lost if editing the form takes longer than this interval.
Please let me know if I can be of any further help.
Best,

Thank you for the informative reply.
Your comments I’m sure will be of help to me.
I’m just learning the WordPress system as I am a new user.
Thanks again. I appreciate your effort in replying very much.

Kent,
No problem! I’m sorry to hear that you lost some of the content you’ve written. Hopefully my little guide above will keep it from happening again. If you need anything else, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Happy blogging!

Yes, I’ve saved some changes since your informative reply. It must look like a “dah!” question but I doo appreciate your answer. Thankfully I did not lose any information I don’t still have easy access to. I feel much more comfortable now and hope to start using WordPress way more frequently. I can’t wait!! Thanks again. Kent
