Does WordPress.com hosting use a cloud provider, colo or private datacenter?

I see that VIP hosting appears to use ‘the cloud’ but do the normally priced plans use it as well? If so, can you share any details (is this AWS, Azure, etc.)?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Sean, The blog you linked to is not on WordPress.com, so I’m not sure what specific help you need with it.
All of WordPress.com sites run on the same infrastructure, one we run and maintain. Only VIP clients actually access and are able to change code, so if you’re looking for a development environment you should investigate another hosting provider.
http://www.wordpress.com/pricing has more information about what levels of access non-VIP sites have.

Yea I’m considering WordPress.com hosting for someone, but from your response it sounds like it’s not on a public cloud provider? That could be a deciding factor.

@seanfromit we aren’t on a public cloud, but even non-VIP sites are load-balanced and hosted in our data centers all over the world.
