Does WP 2.9.2 support Admin SSL plugin??

Ive tried several times, and followed a few different sets of instrucitons, which tell you the same thing.. and having no joy… I install the plugin, but as soon as I select activeate, I get redirected to a login screen, which I cant login to…
The instrucitons say that after installing and activating, go to the config, but I cant, as Im asked to log back in, and it wont let me.. Ive had to uninstall WP and reinstall… Tried a few times now without success, I know the plugin says it wors up to 2.7, so assume its a compatibility issue with 2.9.2.
Usines forceSSL which seems to work fine, although the who site is now https, not just the login/admin pages… but doing the job…
Im using WP on a hosting account I have…
