Does your menu editor freeze. or slow? Got a fix.

After becoming very frustrated with the menu editor hanging up. Starting from scratch and still having the same problem. Then working in the customizer to find out that even though it works much faster, it, for some reason, quit saving my edits. It would come up with an error to try and save it later.
So I read everything i could find and I thought that I was going to have to pay someone to fix this. But this one thing someone said about what the problem probably was kinda stuck with me. They said that it was probably related to the theme. Having experimented with clean and minimal themes and having a few saved to my computer I said: What the heck, what could go wrong. I’ll just do a back up and test this theory.
And sure enough that was the problem. The theme I used to test this is called blue fino. Activating that theme allowed me to edit the menu at normal speeds with zero hangs or freeze ups. Afterwords I switched back to the theme I was using and all is fine. Now if you have a lot of custom setting etc in your theme, then you can save them using this import export plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/customizer-export-import/
That way if the theme switch changes some of your custom design, you can import your backup of these designs and get them back. That way if you only have that problem when you do the theme switch, you don’t have to do a full restore and the problem comes back. Just the custom setting aka design, not old menu settings come back.
So you just keep the blue fino theme installed to do menu edits quickly and switch back to the theme you want when done. just don;t forget to backup in case something goes wrong.
