  I deleted my wordpress site so that I can use the domain name else where. I’m now using wix but when I go to buy a new domain name (the same as the one I was using on wordpress) it says its not available. How do I fix this?

  I deleted my wordpress site

  All support docs are here https://support.wordpress.com/
  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made except for the one stated here http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/ for blogs URLs deleted 2 or more years ago.

  What is the domain URL?
  What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
  Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?

  @missmissyme33 when you cancel a domain that is that old, it does not get released right away. We will see if there’s any way to get it back at this point.

  When you say, “get it back”. Do you mean free up that domain name so that I may purchase it again through different server…. not WordPress.
