    Hi,

    I cancelled my domain but want to use the name else where, is there something I can do to get it back or a domain company I can contact?

    Hi there,

    If you still wanted to use the domain, transferring it would have been a better option than cancelling, as when you cancel a domain you give up ownership of it, making it possible for anyone else to buy it.

    We can recover cancelled domains for about a week afterwards, but as you cancelled this domain over a month ago it is now in what is called the Redemption period. During this time we can still contact the registrar and ask them to restore the domain, but they charge us an $80 fee to do this.

    If you are willing to pay this fee to get the domain back, let me know and I can get the process started for you. But otherwise you’ll need to wait for the domain to complete the redemption process which could still be a few weeks, and even then it’s not guaranteed you’ll be able to register it again as someone else might buy it before you have a chance to.
