Hi there,
What is the domain that you renewed? The account that you are contacting us from does not have any purchases under it. Do you happen to have another account where you purchased the domain?
Let me know, thanks!

Hi, thank you for your reply, the domain is from name cheap, I have heard I need to map it but have no idea how to do it, thank you!

Hey there,
I can help you with that! Our support page provides step by step instructions on how to map your domain:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
You’ll need to log into namecheap and point the nameservers of your domain over to WordPress:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMHere are instructions from namecheap on how to change nameservers:
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks!

Hi thank you for your reply,
Apparently I already have the name cheap as NS1.WORDPRESS.COM NS2.WORDPRESS.COM NS3.WORDPRESS.COM,
as it has been mapped already when I created the website I guess, this time was only renewing the domain.
However I understand I need the premium word press? If I starts bying this package it offers me options for my website layout,
as I was starting one from zero, but it is not the case as this website, justinebourland.com, has already been designed on wordpress in the past and I don t want to re-do everything again, do you see what I mean?
Do I need to pay for the premium to map it? Would I be back to where my website was in terms of wordpress and posts or
not?
Thank you very much

Hi there,
So, justinebourland.com is currently a self-hosted WordPress.org site at Namecheap? (it is connected to WordPress.com via JetPack) So, you are wanting to move the site over to WordPress.com? If you have a customized layout and still want to keep it intact, you’ll probably want to keep the site with Namecheap and keep the nameservers of justinebourland.com pointed towards the site at Namecheap.
Is there a particular reason you want to move the site over to WordPress.com? We can migrate the content over to your site at WordPress.com, so you won’t lose your posts and pages, etc. However, again you may need to use a different theme layout than the one you have with your current site.
Please let me know if you have any questions and if you want to proceed with migrating the site.
Thanks!

Hi!
So as you must have noticed I don’t really understand how domains work , my boyfriend at the time set it up for me but now
I need to do it alone.
All I know is that we bought the domain on Namecheap and then made the website on wordpress. This was like 2 years ago,
then this year I did t pay on time the renewal of it. So when I go to my wordpress account to update the website it says it is disconnected.
So do you think I need to mitigate the content? As it was not made on Namecheap but wordpress originally do I still need to do it?
Sorry I’m a bit lost!
Thank you very much for your time,
Justine

Hi there,
So do you think I need to mitigate the content? As it was not made on Namecheap but wordpress originally do I still need to do it?
No worries. It can be confusing. So, your site is hosted at Namecheap, but was built using WordPress.org software. That is different than your site being hosted with WordPress.com.
To read about the difference, you can go to our support page:
But, with your site and domain being hosted with Namecheap already, you won’t need to move anything over to WordPress.com. You’ll renew your domain over at Namecheap and work on your WordPress.org site through Namecheap as well.
Hopefully that makes more sense.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hey there,
This user had a similar issue and our volunteer was able to answer it well.
The Gateway theme support doc explains:
2. If you wish, assign the page a Featured Image to appear as a background to the header. If no Featured Image is assigned, the Custom Header Image will be used instead.
You can upload a featured image to the page in order to change the default image that you currently see.
Let me know if you need any further assistance. Thanks!
