    Can I transfer my domain to wordpress (it runs out in a few weeks) and then register with wordpress? Or do I have to let the domain expire to register direct?

    Hi there,

    It’s not possible to transfer a domain to WordPress.com, but I strongly advise you not to let it expire either.

    Expired domains go through a long process of about 80 days before they are released. During this time your registrar will try to sell the domain at auction, in which case you’ll lose it completely.

    To use your domain with WordPress.com it would be better to renew it at your registrar, and then connect it here with our domain mapping upgrade. Domain mapping is included in all our plans.
