    I have a domain. I had a website designer? Can I use WordPress to manage my site if so how? What does ‘Map’ mean?

    Hi there,

    First, you should be aware that there are two versions of WordPress. This is WordPress.com where we control the technical aspects of your site so you can focus only on creating your content. And then there’s WordPress.org which is software you install at your own host, and where you have complete control over all aspects of your site.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org

    If you want to go with WordPress.com, you need to start with a free site here, and then you can connect your domain to it using the Domain Mapping included in one of our plans.

    If you go with self-hosted WordPress.org, you’ll need to find a hosting provider, and the cost will depend on which hosting plan you choose with them. You can find more info on hosting here:
