  An error message appears on my website ‘ is not available at the domain right now. This domain expired, and it has to be renewed before it is lost’ However I have checked with my domain administrator and it is on automatic renewal, due to renew in 2017. Could you advise me what the problem is Thanks

  Hi there,

  The domain mapping connecting that domain to your WordPress.com site expired 8 days ago, and you need to renew that.

  The domain mapping was added by the username, brightcookie, so you will need to log in as that user to renew the upgrade, as only upgrade owners can do that.

  On your site it says “Each plan comes with one free domain credit,” would you be able to tell me what that refer to? Thanks

  If you add a plan to your site you have the option of registering one brand new domain, or mapping one domain you already own to your site for free. You can of course add more domains than that, but for extra domains you need to pay for each one.

  So just so I am clear is this a new policy to pay for mapping of one domain because I haven’t paid for it before.

  Domain mapping has always been a paid upgrade.

  You didn’t pay for mapping before, because a different account originally bought it and then transferred the site to you.
