Domain

Recover a domain that I purchased through WordPress. It is no longer appearing in my account and I paid for it through WP. When I try to use my domain through BlueHost it is now telling me that it’s registered with Wild West Domains. And when I login through wp-admin on my site, it gives the following error: Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please login and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. I need help with this, as now my domain is locked and cannot be used. Is there a way to recover this through WordPress?

  • Hi there,

Is this for the domain, emilyparkman.com?

Our records show that you cancelled that domain yesterday before you deleted your site, emilyparkmancom.wordpress.com

If you still want that domain, let me know and I can try to get it back from our registrar before it’s deleted completely, or you can wait for them to delete it at which point you can register it directly with Bluehost. However, please note that we have no control over how long it will take the registrar to delete the domain – it usually takes only a few days, but it can take a few months in some cases.

Let me know how you want to proceed.

I would still like to have access to the domain if possible before it’s completely deleted. I think I may have removed it from my account by accident. Thank you for your help on this!

  • Thanks. I’ve emailed our registrar to try and get it back. I’ll let you know once I hear from them.

  • Hi there,

Your domain has been restored. As you’d deleted the site it was originally attached to, I’ve attached it to your other site, emilyparkmancom.wordpress.com, instead. It’s not currently set as the primary domain, but you can update that from My Site ->Domains.

To use the domain through Bluehost you’ll need to add their name servers. You can find instructions how to do that here:
