Hello! I recently had a site with the domain name patmacgibbon.com mapped to the site. I removed the domain mapping but I’m hoping to retain the domain for future use, not necessarily through WordPress. Is there any way that you can recover the domain and then sell it to me outside of my WordPress account so I can use it separately? Thanks so much!!!

3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?

I can try and reverse the cancellation. I will let you know if I am successful, it typically takes 12-48 hours.
If successful, you will need to re-purchase the yearly domain registration. Then you will be able to use the domain here on WordPress.com or point your domain to a new webhost using these instructions:

Good news, we were able to reverse the cancellation. The domain should be active in your account again.
