  Hi @arheyborne,

  What specifically do you mean when you say you released it? Did the domain expire?

  Could you also please tell me which domain name you’re looking for?

  Canceled domains are not released into the pool of available domains instantly. The registrar will hold onto them for some amount of time as an anti-fraud measure. And there is always the risk that someone else will grab the domain before you are able to register it again.

  Typically, we encourage people who wish to use a WordPress.com domain on another site to keep the domain registered here and follow these directions to point to their new webhost:

  If you like, I can try and reverse the cancellation. I will let you know if I am successful, it typically takes 12-48 hours. If successful, you will need to re-purchase the yearly domain registration.

  @kokkieh, another staff member, mentioned:

  Expired domains don’t become available immediately, but go through a process of about 90 days before they are released. As part of this process your registrar might try selling the domain privately at auction, and at a certain point it enters a phase called Redemption during which you need to pay an additional fee to get it back.

  Yes, I would like help trying to reverse the cancellation of the domain name thefamilymemories.com .Please let me know if this is possible and how much it will cost to do this. Thank you so much for your help!
