    Hi there:

We only renew domains a year at a time and your domain theijtema.com was cancelled on 2022-03-20 when the renewal payments failed.

We attempted to bill the payment details on file seven times between 2022-01-07 and 2022-02-06 and the charges were declined by your bank each time. We also sent you an email to the email address on file for your account each time those payments failed with a prompt to update or verify your bank details. When the payment wasn’t updated, it was cancelled due to non-payment on the date listed above.

Unfortunately, once the domain exited the redemption period, it became available to be purchased again on the open domain marketplace and it was purchased by Thirdroundnames LLC on 2022-04-27.

You can check that registration information yourself by entering the domain name on the ICANN WHOIS lookup page here:

    https://lookup.icann.org/en/lookup

Since someone else purchased the domain, it’s not possible to recover it. You would either need to wait for the domain to cancel and exit the redemption period for it to be available for repurchase or you would need to choose a new domain for your site. Your content is still available at theijtema.wordpress.com so you haven’t lost any of that data when the domain cancelled.

I hope that clarifies things. Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks for the reply.

Would it be possible to buy it from Thirdroundnames LLC?

Quite possibly that is their business buying up domains people “forgot” to renew so expect a hefty price.

True, they are asking for $688 :-(
