I have a website with GoDaddy but I want to switch over to WordPress. Im going to purchase the business plan. If I get the domain released from GoDaddy, will the domain be able to be transferred to WordPress?

Hi there,
Just to clarify regarding the domain, you’ll need to leave the domain registered with GoDaddy, and then map it here according to the instructions @timethief provided.
If you cancel the domain with GoDaddy it won’t be released by them immediately, and there’s a risk that once they do release it someone could have it on back order in which case it will immediately be registered with them and you’ll lose it. I wouldn’t advise cancelling it or letting it expire so you can register it here.

If I buy the business package, will I be able to create my own domain without it saying .wordpress.com?

All our plans include one free domain, yes. You can either register a new domain with us, or you can connect a domain that you’ve already registered somewhere else. The free address will also still work, but visitors to your site will only see the custom domain.
