  I was unaware a domain I purchased through wordpress.com expired in December. I want to be able to reactivate it.

  Aloha lullabeeapothecary, Is lullabeeapothecary.com the domain you are trying to reactivate? If so, it is listed as available for purchase. This means you should be able to register the domain as long as you have an upgraded plan:
