  My friend told me that I just need to buy a domain name for my website, so I bought http://www.mywebsite.com – but when I go to that URL, there is no website there. What is going wrong?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Only buying a domain name isn’t enough to start a website. you also need to buy hosting to set up a website.
