Hi civilianaire.in is the url i own at godaddy which i had mapped to my my wordpress blog civilianaire
I suddenly seem to have lost that ?
And this link, for instance, which was taking me to my blog page –
>> https://civilianaire.in/2017/01/24/koolaid-and-how-we-got-played/
is now giving me the error message :
>> Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.
Please help! I’ve just sent in a resume with links to my blog as writing samples – I need for the link to work!

Yes, the mapping upgrade has expired. You’ll need to purchase it again and map the domain back to your WordPress.com site. The domain is still pointing to us which is why you’re getting that error message, but once mapping is set back up, everything should be good to go.

shouldn’t i have received a heads up to the domain mapping expiring?
I found out because i was sending the link with my resume as a writing sample – just happened to check the link and that’s how i found out.
I’ve just checked on the “upgrade” to domain mapping – the last time i recall paying $13 – now its asking me for $99? Is that right?

Yes, you should’ve received several emails in regards to your pending expiration.

If you are interested in restoring your domain mapping subscription, I can do that for you on my end for the $13. Once the domain expires, you no longer have the option to renew it for $13 since you now need a plan in order to use domain mapping.

Let me know and I will send a manual payment for $13 your way.

You can no longer register or map a domain individually with WordPress.com. Moving forward, domain subscriptions can be purchased as a part of one of our many plans here. This recent domains with plans only update was made as we continue to work diligently to provide the best WordPress.com experience for both users who choose to purchase a plan as well as those who choose the free plan.

You used to be able to purchase a mapping subscription solely, but you lose that grandfathered in ability if the subscription expires. I manually re-added the subscription for you so that you did not have to purchase a plan to retrieve it.

We did send those out, but they could have been filtered as spam, or Gmail could have filtered them to the Social or Updates folders, in which case you might not have seen them. If they went to spam, chances are Gmail has automatically deleted them by now.

It’s not possible for us to resend those as it’s an automated system. But the mapping is now back on your account, so you’re good for the next year. You might still be required to buy a plan to renew it next year, but please contact us at that point if this happens.
