Domain

    Hello,
I previously had a wordpress account and decided to create a new one in which I purchased a plan and domain name. When I tried logging on this morning, my information was all gone and my old one appeared. Why did this happen and why did it replace my new account? Does that mean that the money I spent on my new account has gone to waste? Please contact me.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@valleyoa, the site is live, so it is probably not wasted.

Let me see if I understand:
When you logged in this morning, you logged in with your new account and password, but saw your old site?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, and I am not able to post on my new site! My domain and account information from my last account are the ones that appear!

This might be a silly question, but have you switched between your sites?

When you are logged in, there is a button in the top left of your screen “My Sites.”
The first line underneath is “Switch sites” – that should show you both of your created sites.

Try that, and if it doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll try to help think of other potential problems! :)

I tried that! It unfortunately did not give me that option :(

Hm, so it only shows your old site?

Did you create the new site with a new/ different email address, or is it the same email and only a new site?

Here’s one more way to check if it’s just not showing:

(When you’re logged in to the account that you think the new site is on):
    – Click on your profile icon/ picture in the top right corner
    – Click on Account Settings in the dropdown list

Under the email address field is “Primary site” – you should see your site and **hopefully** an arrow dropping down to see another site. If you didn’t see it in the “switch sites” option, then you probably won’t here, but let’s check. :)

I checked and only my old account is there, not my new domain, sientelalluvia.com

My old one is, andreavallejocom.wordpress.com which is the one that appears

When I click on your user name in this thread, it brings me to the sietelalluvia site – so it’s linked to you somehow!

What happens if you go to the address of your new site? Do you have an option to edit or log in through there?

  • Unknown's avatar

I do not, it’s as if I do not have control over the site! The option of my new site does not come up, only my old one which worries me! I can see the site but only in the view of anyone reading it, not me as the writer!

@vallejoa, I can’t think of other things, other than you being logged into the old account – but since I can see your new page when I click on your username here, I don’t think that’s it!

I did notice we are in a “duplicate” thread – the original thread already has been tagged with modlook, so a Happiness Engineer will hopefully look at it soon and be able to see more than us volunteers can see! Good luck… I’m sorry you’re having this trouble!

@vallejoa it looks like this is a duplicate topic that was previously answered at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/domain-2357

For any further discussion please post in the above thread. Thanks.
