    I canceled my domain and now it shows as parked. While canceling, it said that my domain will be made available to be claimed on other sites. I have about 2 weeks until my domain expires, I just want to buy it on a different service. Please help me out with this so I don’t have to wait two weeks.

    I’m so glad you got in touch! The cancellation warning says it will not be available to register on other sites. Unless it’s a brand-new registration, it goes through a long domain redemption process. It’s costly to get it back then, and it could even be lost.

    We have just a few days post-cancellation to restore the domain before that process starts. Normally we’d ask if you want it restored, but given that we’re going into a weekend and you have expressed you want to keep using the domain, I’m making an executive decision here. That’s restored now, with auto-renew off.

    If you want to use the domain with another provider, please transfer it to them instead. That takes a few days, so you’ll want to get started soon. Here’s how to go about transferring the domain away from WordPress.com.

    If the other service doesn’t accept incoming transfers and only does new registrations, you can likely still connect the domain to them using DNS or the nameserver settings. Just be sure to renew it. We’re here to help if needed.
