    Hi, I need to renew my domain. It expired on the 11th of July – but I didn’t realise because I get so many fake emails about my domain expiry in my junk that I wasn’t aware this was real. Now my website is offline and I need help to retrieve and re-new my domain name. Can you please help me?

    This happened to me last year as well – then I made auto-payments on it, but actually I then got a new credit card and forgot to update this account.

    Thank you so much for you help! Is there a more direct way to get the help of the staff than through a forum?

    Oh no, that sounds like something that would happen to me as well. :) Hopefully your domain can be quickly recovered.

    Tagging the post “modlook” is the best way in the forums to get a staff member to look at a post. This is copied from our support pages:

    How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question?

    Some issues require staff member help. If you see or add a thread that you know needs staff intervention, you can add the modlook tag to the tags area of the thread to make sure we see it.

    How can I get private help?

    If you have a paid upgrade, head over to our contact form and you’ll be able to put in a private support request that way. You can also ask for private help in the forums; just add the modlook tag so staff will see your request and we can email you directly.

    Is there phone or live chat support?

    We currently only offer support by email and forums, except for users who have purchased the WordPress.com Plan. Users with a paid Plan have access to live chat support. Read more about live chat support.

    evalouisewilliams.com expired on 2017-07-11 and is currently in the redemption period:

    Domain Expiration

    We can still try to recover the domain but you will need to pay an $80 redemption fee in addition to the regular $18 domain renewal cost. If you agree, I can send a payment request and contact our domain registrar once it has been paid.

    If you don’t want to pay the fee you can wait until the domain is released, although this can take 80 days or more. There is also no guarantee you will be the first to register it again.

    Please let me know what you would like to do and we’ll go from there.

    Hi Gemma – I don’t know how to “tag” a person so I hope that this does get communicated, however if you do send the email/invoice I will pay immediately. Thank you. x I understand this doesn’t necessarily mean my domain will be immediately recovered – is that correct?

    There’s no need to tag this thread. @tifanne83 did that for you and your replies will come through to me :)

    Yes, that’s correct. Once you have paid, I will contact our domain registrar and ask for your domain to be recovered. They will then reply and confirm whether they have been able to do so — this usually takes 1-2 business days. If they aren’t able to recover your domain I will issue a refund for the amount you have paid. But I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

    I’ve sent a payment request to the email address on your account. Please let me know if you don’t receive it.

    Yay!

    I have paid, and I received something which said I was now the proud owner of the domain – but something tells me this isn’t finished yet.
