  When a domain expires, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.

  If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive.

  Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the redemption fee.

  If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.

  If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

  Howdy –

  As timethief stated, this domain is in redemption after expiring on 2016-07-08.

  I can try to restore it with the help of our domain partner. To do that they will charge an $80 fee. Before we proceed, I have to confirm that you’ll agree to make that payment.

  The other option is to let it process through the redemption period and then hope that you’ll be the first person to register it once it becomes available again. There isn’t any sort of notification of when this will happen though. Basically, you need to try and register it every day and hope no one else gets to it first. If someone else beats you to it you’ll be left empty handed. This is obviously very risky.

  Please let me know if you’d like to proceed with redemption and I’ll get things in motion.

  The redemption fee ($80) along with the domain registration ($26) need to be paid in advance.
