Domain
-
I created a domain name (makeupbymontgomery) and paid for hosting. I then decided to use another platform for my website, and deleted the website, and cancelled the domain hosting. I now need to access the domain name so I can use it somewhere else, and have it hosted again. How do I find it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Deleting a site/plan and also cancelling a domain doesn’t free the domain up to be immediately registered elsewhere. What you should have done was to transfer the domain (although there is a 60 day lock on doing that). I have added modlook to the tag box on the right for staff to follow up and see if you have lost your domain or if they can perhaps still recover it. https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/

Hi there,
@themagicrobot is correct.
If you’re wanting to use your domain at a different host, you should never cancel it at your current host – once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site

For more information on using the domain elsewhere, please see:

Since you purchased your domain on 9/22, you have to wait another ~40 days before you are able to transfer your domain to a different host, but in the meantime, you can use the domain with your site by pointing the nameservers over to your new host:

Let me know if you would like for me to try and regain the domain for you.
Thanks!
