  Do i really have to pay 96$ a year to use my existing domain? When did this change and is this my only option? Part from (re)moving my blog from wordpress. Got to use a different domain for free a few years back. I am so disappointed.. Please tell me I am wrong!

  Hi @sandrahave, we do require paid plans to host domains now. But we have a personal plan that would work well:
  https://wordpress.com/plans

  That includes the cost of a domain, removes ads, and gives you direct support.
