Do I need a mapping upgrade or a transfer?
There are two options to connect a domain:
1) Transfer the registration. Your domain registration and billing will be moved from your current domain provider to WordPress.com. That means in future you’ll manage all aspects of your domain here, including renewal, cancellation, or a future transfer.
2) Map the domain. Your domain registration will stay with your current provider, and you’ll point the domain to WordPress.com instead. Use this if your domain is less than 60 days old, or you have a domain extension that cannot be transferred to WordPress.com. The domain will show your WordPress.com site, and depending on how you point it here you’ll be able to set up email and manage your DNS via our domain manager, but you’ll still need to pay your current provider for the domain’s renewal every year.

Hi there,
We do not support incoming transfers for .si domains, so you cannot transfer it to us.
That means the only option if you want to use that domain with a WordPress.com site is the domain mapping option. In other words, the domain will remain registered at your current provider, and you’ll just point it to your WordPress.com site, as explained here:
