  Hello, I am trying to connect my domain to our wordpress account and it is still charging me for the .wordpress.com account when I try to checkout, is there a reason it is doing this? I’d love to be able to talk to someone on the phone if possible. Thanks.

  You need to upgrade to a paid plan to map a domain you already own to a WordPress.com site.

  PS: There is no telephone support at WordPress.com so I have asked if a mod/staff could remove your phone number.

  Hi there, as @themagicrobot mentions, to map an existing domain to a site here at WordPress.com, you will need to upgrade to a plan. The most economical would be the Personal plan.
