  Hi There, I’d like to build out my site before I move my domain name. Can I do this. Currently, I have a Wix site.

  Yes, you can create a site with the free WordPress.com site address. Once it’s ready, you can then map or transfer your custom domain by upgrading the site to a paid plan.

  If you plan to transfer the content on your Wix site to WordPress.com, you can do that by following the HTML steps in this guide.
