  I own a domain name already which is hosted elsewhere and only want to attach it to a wordpress site. Can I do this for free?

  Hi tashaneufeldt,

  In order to use your own custom domain with WordPress.com, you have to upgrade to a paid plan. Free plans with WordPress.com give you access to a subdomain, but the ability to use your own custom domain is not included in the free plans. You can read more about it here
