    Hi jfauber7

When you cancelled your domain we are not sure exactly when your domain will come in Free pool so that you can register it again. You have to check it again and again the availability of the domain with the domain registrar.

You can also do one thing if you have just cancel your domain then you can get it back with the help of staff on you husbands account only and then you can use that domain on any other account of WordPress or you can transfer it to any other registrar also.

I am also tagging this thread as ‘modlook’ for staff attention. Please wait for some time they will also get back to you on this.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hey there,

If you’re wanting to use your domain at a different WordPress.com account, you should never cancel it at your current host – once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

If you want to transfer the domain from your husband’s WordPress.com account to yours, all you need to do is follow the instructions on our support page:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-a-domain-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

First to confirm ownership of the domain, if you can log into your husbands account (jmp07) and post in this thread to verify you want to restore the domain. Then, I’ll be happy to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.

Let me know if you would like for me to try and regain the domain for you.

    Thanks!
