  What are the pros and cons of purchasing a domain from another party and creating one via WordPress? (in idiot english please) and other than GoDaddy.com and BlueHost.com where else can a domain be purchased?

  Hi,

  In regards to buying the domain name directly through WordPress.com, you’re paying for the ease of use on creating a website. It’s really easy and simple through WordPress.com and you don’t need any special coding skills unless you’re trying to change something really specific on the HTML or CSS of a theme for example, everything is pretty much set for you and you can get a basic website going in less than 5 minutes.

  If you’re using another domain registrar like Godaddy or Bluehost you can install the WordPress.org software on your own hosting account which will require a separate hosting account to run a WordPress site and while the WordPress.org software is free you won’t be able to have 24/7 support(it’s only for WordPress.com) and you will need to do a bit more of work to set your website.

  You can also search on Google for other Domain Registrars and pick what might fit better for you.
