    Hi lynnwell,

Just to expand on the information @obt28 provided…

I don’t know if I want to use word press yet

There are two types of WordPress to choose from:

    1. WordPress.com: where a site is created and hosted here with us
    2. WordPress.org: where WordPress.org software is installed on a third party host (also referred to as the open source version).

We have more information about the differences between the two here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

can I decide to transfer my pre owned domain later?

If you decide to use WordPress.com, you can start by creating a free site (with no custom domain), choosing a theme and adding content etc. The existing domain can then be mapped or transferred to WordPress.com if things go well and you are ready to make the switch :)

I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.
