Hi Lynnwell,
Choosing to use WordPress is a wise decision because it’s open sourced and easy to use.
WordPress has a huge community of people using it and you can easily get assistance or resolve any issues easily from help community like this incase run into any issues using it.
I hope this helps to clear you doubt.
Please post back if you have any other questions.

Hi lynnwell,
Just to expand on the information @obt28 provided…
I don’t know if I want to use word press yet
There are two types of WordPress to choose from:
- WordPress.com: where a site is created and hosted here with us
- WordPress.org: where WordPress.org software is installed on a third party host (also referred to as the open source version).
We have more information about the differences between the two here:
can I decide to transfer my pre owned domain later?
If you decide to use WordPress.com, you can start by creating a free site (with no custom domain), choosing a theme and adding content etc. The existing domain can then be mapped or transferred to WordPress.com if things go well and you are ready to make the switch :)
I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.
