  I’m currently using WordPress on a free plan and I have purchased my own domain name. How do I now add this to WordPress as I have gone to the domain section on my site but I am unsure the difference between ‘Transfer to wordpress.com’ and ‘Map your domain’.

  Hi,

  Transferring your Domain means you will be managing your site through WordPress.

  Where Mapping your Domain means you will keep it where it’s currently registered and you would have to manage it through that registrar.

  Both options will require purchasing a Site Upgrade of a Personal Plan or higher
